About The Position

Pathways, Inc. is seeking compassionate and hardworking individuals to join our team as Residence Counselors in our residences for adults with developmental disabilities located in Corning, Painted Post, and Elmira, NY. The Residence Counselor will be responsible for implementing each individual's Individualized Program Plan as determined by the individual and their Service Planning Team. This role includes teaching and assisting with community integration, social and recreational activities, money management, transportation, behavioral needs, and overall health and well-being of the individuals we serve. The Residence Counselor will work closely with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, Residence Manager, and other members of the Service Planning Team to ensure that services are appropriate and meet the expressed needs, likes, and choices of the individuals. Respect for each individual's home, belongings, and Agency property is paramount.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• At least one year of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities or related field is preferred.
• A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines to operate Agency-owned vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Implement each individual's Individualized Program Plan as determined by the individual and their Service Planning Team.
• Assist with community integration, social and recreational activities, and money management.
• Provide transportation and support for behavioral needs and overall health and well-being of the individuals.
• Meet regularly with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, and Residence Manager to ensure services are appropriate.
• Confer with other members of the individual's Service Planning Team.
