About The Position

The Reservoir Engineer / Advisor I supports Reservoir Leadership in driving high technical standards, reservoir performance, and development planning across oil & gas assets. This role focuses heavily on reservoir simulation, depletion planning, economic modeling, and scenario forecasting, with strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, planning, geology, and finance. This is an office-based Houston role (M-F 5/2) supporting unconventional development economics and reservoir evaluations with no travel required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated work experience in Reservoir Engineering positions in Oil & Gas Industry
  • Strong background in unconventional development economics, petroleum economics, or similar analytical discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience with ComboCurve, including: Setting up and editing Econ Models, running forecasts and scenarios, and understanding curve logic, datasets, and workflows.
  • Experience with other economic or forecasting tools (Aries, PHDWin, Spotfire, Power BI, etc.).
  • Prior experience supporting development planning, portfolio analysis, or A&D evaluations.
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting technical results to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deliverables‑driven with clear timelines and accountability.
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (CPM, Python scripts, or schedule/econ automation workflows).
  • Familiarity with unconventional well behavior, type curve methodologies, and decline curve analysis (Arps, multi‑segment, etc.).

  • Align CAPEX, OPEX, fiscal structures, and corporate assumptions
  • Automate and improve economic workflows for repeatability
  • Work closely with reservoir, geology, planning, and finance teams
  • Translate development plans into economic results
  • Support ad hoc modeling requests and leadership presentations
  • Perform PVT, inflow/outflow, relative permeability, SCAL, and performance evaluations
