About The Position

The Reserving Actuary position at Insight Global involves supporting the quarterly reserving process and setting of the Actuarial Central Estimates for Global Liability and Specialty Lines. The role is designed for an ACAS or FCAS professional and offers a temporary placement of six to twelve months, with the potential for a long-term permanent position. The successful candidate will engage in various actuarial tasks, including peer reviews, monitoring loss ratios, and developing frameworks to enhance process efficiency.

Requirements

• ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) or FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) certification.
• 5-10 years of actuarial experience.
• 3 years of reserving experience preferred.
• Insurance/Reinsurance experience is a must; a few years of reserving preferred.
• Experience with ResQ, SQL, and Visual Basic.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Insurance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the peer review of the actuarial central estimate indications for the liability and specialty lines.
• Assist in the monitoring of loss ratio planning assumptions and support the annual business planning process.
• Provide support in producing materials for the Sompo International Group Loss Reserve committee and business unit leaders regarding reserve selections, movements during the quarter, ACE indications, and trends/risks.
• Assist in the development and implementation of frameworks aimed at improving efficiency of existing processes.
• Assist in the maintenance of actuarial assumptions in the reserving platform.
• Develop relationships with Actuarial Pricing, Risk, Claims, Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis to enhance understanding of Sompo International's business and processes.
• Support other special projects as required by the business.
