About The Position

As an Event Chef, you will prepare high-quality, locally inspired cuisine in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is integral to delivering an exceptional culinary experience by executing menu items to established recipe, quality, and presentation standards under the direction of the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Director of Strike Team. This position requires flexibility, collaboration, and a strong commitment to excellence in both culinary execution and guest service.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience as an Event Cook, Chef, or in a similar culinary role.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with inventory management and kitchen organization.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation standards and applicable health codes.
  • Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety.
  • Flexibility to support additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • You’ll need to present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire pursuant to federal law.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience working in a luxury hotel, resort, ranch, or remote hospitality environment.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent formal training.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with established recipes and preparation checklists, including washing, chopping, peeling, portioning, weighing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Preparing and executing meals for small groups of guests while maintaining high culinary standards and minimizing waste.
  • Ensuring the quality, consistency, and presentation of all dishes meet or exceed expectations.
  • Designing and executing menus that reflect a sense of place, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
  • Monitoring food quality throughout preparation and testing products to ensure proper cooking and flavor profiles.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with all sanitation standards and health regulations.
  • Participating in daily kitchen operations, including setup, breakdown, deep cleaning, and workstation sanitation.
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and related tools.
  • Collaborating and communicating clearly with culinary team members to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Assisting with inventory management, supply ordering, and maintaining proper stock levels.
  • Providing exceptional guest service, including accommodation for dietary restrictions and special requests.
  • Acting as a host when guests are present on Reserve properties, delivering a warm and professional experience.
  • Supporting and mentoring team members by modeling proper cooking techniques and kitchen standards.
  • Ensuring proper and safe use of all kitchen equipment, including conducting routine checks and training as needed.
  • Performing additional operational tasks as assigned, which may include dishwashing, deep cleaning, minor maintenance, or grounds support.
