About The Position

The County of Cameron is seeking a Reserve Deputy Sheriff to join the Cameron County Sheriff's Office. This position involves working under the direction of the Division Supervisor and adhering to the rules and regulations of the Cameron County Sheriff Department. The Reserve Deputy Sheriff will be responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing federal and state laws, patrolling rural areas, and assisting local municipalities. All Reserve Deputies are required to maintain a confidentiality agreement with the department regarding its confidential records, reports, and any other files and information.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Peace Officer Certification by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly and precisely
• No prior court conviction on felonies or misdemeanor offenses
