This position requires a keen understanding of market dynamics, as the manager will identify peak, shoulder, and off-peak dates a year in advance to set yield strategies accordingly. Regular monitoring of market conditions is essential to recommend adjustments that will optimize revenue potential. The manager will track room nights, rates, and regrets by market segment, ensuring that higher-rated rooms are not displaced by lower-rated segments during periods of market compression. Conversely, during off-peak seasons, the focus will be on building occupancy by adjusting strategies appropriately. In addition to revenue management, the Reservations/Revenue Manager will accumulate internal property statistics and conduct competitive shopping to analyze market positioning. This involves networking with other hotels to gain insights that will help position the hotel advantageously in the marketplace. The manager will also oversee the revenue management process under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Sales, focusing on capitalizing on revenue opportunities rather than merely generating demand. This includes selling the right product at the right time and at the right price. The primary responsibilities of the Reservations/Revenue Manager include managing all terminals with proper rate codes and restrictions on a rolling 52-week basis, ensuring that promotional programs are utilized effectively, and tracking and analyzing reservation activity. The manager will accumulate daily revenue statistics, perform competitive shopping, and adjust projected demand analysis daily. Regular meetings with sales and operational managers will be conducted to review results and strategies, and the manager will also be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating centralized reservation agents. Additionally, the manager will analyze mystery shopping results and implement corrective actions as necessary, while also performing revenue forecasting and budgeting for all hotels.
