About The Position

As Core Manager, you will manage a highly effective Core team. You will work with Sales & Marketing Teams to execute the hotel's strategic sales plan in regard to occupancy, rates and yield. You will manage the Reservations & Core Department (Core) to meet and exceed budgeted targets. Your role will involve monitoring productivity within the team to gain a clear understanding of the business and communicate needs and trends with the leadership team. You will actively seek various opportunities to enable the team who is selling on the phone to increase revenue spend by guests. Working with the Director of Revenue, you will understand the competitive marketplace through data analysis trends, and build a strategic approach to manage those trends. You will create an environment that empowers team members to deliver best in class results and communicate effectively with team members at various levels within the organization in both verbal and written form. Mentoring and developing skills within the Core Team to enable them to grow within their role and within the company will be essential. The successful candidate must be a motivated sales person and be able to develop those skills in the team. You will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring other leaders within the department, ensuring a consistent approach to accountability to deliver excellent guest service. Additionally, you will recruit, select, train and coach Team Members, demonstrating a passion for being innovative and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments/demands. Competence in using various hotel IT systems on a daily basis (Opera experience a major plus) and keeping accurate records of revenue and booking levels is required.
