About The Position

CACI is seeking social science researcher to supporting the ITM project with DARPA. Apply your behavioral science training to support innovative, real-world research for national security as part of a cutting-edge program. You will assist with experimental design, contribute to behavioral-focused data analysis, and support the development of manuscripts and research deliverables while collaborating with experienced researchers to translate academic concepts into practical applications. In this role, you’ll support project teams by contributing your academic knowledge and learning alongside experienced professionals. You’ll assist with applying concepts from psychology and experimental design to help with study development, data collection, and basic analysis. You may help coordinate materials for program reviews or demonstration events and provide input when reviewing reports or research documents, particularly from a human cognition perspective. This position is designed to give you hands-on experience while building practical skills in an applied research environment.

Requirements

  • Publications and presentations in academic outlets
  • Graduate level training in research methods or statistics for the social sciences
  • Advanced degree in psychology or human factors
  • Experience working in software development environment
  • Experience or expertise in human factors of AI solutions
  • Teamwork skills and flexibility for agile work cadence
  • Interpersonal communication skills, strong work ethic, and motivated to learn
  • Experience with social science research methods and statistics
  • Familiarity with academic publication process (journals and conferences)
  • Ability to work on the computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email, and face-to-face
  • Working primarily remotely with occasional in person meetings in Fairfax, VA or Annapolis, MD areas
