About The Position

The Department of Plant Science in the College of Agricultural Sciences is hiring a Research Technologist. The Research Technologist will conduct molecular analysis of maize genetic stocks carrying insertion of endogenous DNA transposons into genes of interest. They will be responsible for optimization and application of PCR based genotyping protocols, selection and management of stocks and provision of stocks to other members of the project team. Other duties include maize field genetics and support of the project team in seed preparation and planting of genetics fields. The selected candidate will conduct field and greenhouse characterization of maize stocks including microscopic and molecular evaluation of arbuscular mycorrhizal colonization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
• Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
• This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
