About The Position

Supports clinical and scientific research throughout the organization; assists with or conducts experiments and procedures under the direction of a supervisor; presents findings including preliminary interpretation for further review; inputs clinical and research information into the designated database system; conducts routine maintenance of equipment and machinery as needed. The Research Technologist will support ongoing translational research focused on therapeutic resistance in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The laboratory utilizes a combination of molecular biology, cell-based assays, and in vivo preclinical models to investigate mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted therapies. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment and contribute to both basic and translational research projects. Salary range for this position is $52,979 - $67,185 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.
  • NOTE: Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cancer models
  • Experience with Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and molecular assays
  • Familiarity with transfection/transduction techniques
  • Experience with small animal handling, including IP/PO dosing and tumor models
  • Experience with flow cytometry and data analysis
  • Familiarity with imaging modalities such as MRI or ultrasound photoacoustic imaging
  • Experience with radiation-based experiments (in vitro or in vivo)
  • Proficiency in GraphPad Prism software
