We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technologist to join our translational neuro-oncology research team. Our lab focuses on glioblastoma, meningiomas, and peripheral nerve sheath tumors, with a strong emphasis on tumor microenvironment biology, spatial and single-cell transcriptomics, and molecular biomarker discovery through epigenetic modifications. The successful candidate will support ongoing projects by performing established and emerging laboratory techniques, including but not limited to: Methylated DNA immunoprecipitation from FFPE and frozen tumor tissues, CSF and plasma Molecular biology assays (PCR, RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, bisulfite conversion) H&E staining, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining on FFPE and frozen tissues Fluorescence and brightfield microscopy, image acquisition, and analysis Sample preparation for spatial transcriptomics, single-cell analysis, and next-generation sequencing Data entry, preliminary statistical analysis, and assistance with manuscript and figure preparation Organization of lab inventory, reagents, and general lab maintenance. The Research Technologist will present data in lab meetings and collaborate closely with senior lab members and trainees. The candidate will be expected to work independently on routine procedures and receive mentorship for more complex tasks. Opportunities for authorship on publications are available based on contributions.

  • Perform established and emerging laboratory techniques including Methylated DNA immunoprecipitation from FFPE and frozen tumor tissues.
  • Conduct molecular biology assays (PCR, RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, bisulfite conversion) on CSF and plasma.
  • Perform H&E staining, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence staining on FFPE and frozen tissues.
  • Utilize fluorescence and brightfield microscopy for image acquisition and analysis.
  • Prepare samples for spatial transcriptomics, single-cell analysis, and next-generation sequencing.
  • Enter data and conduct preliminary statistical analysis.
  • Assist with manuscript and figure preparation.
  • Organize lab inventory, reagents, and maintain general lab upkeep.
  • Present data in lab meetings and collaborate with senior lab members and trainees.
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant science, or an associate's degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong preference for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on wet lab experience (academic or industry).
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, particularly PCR and qPCR.
  • Familiarity with immunostaining, microscopy, and basic data analysis (GraphPad, ImageJ, Excel/R).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with DNA methylation.
  • Familiarity with digital pathology.
  • Prior exposure to spatial transcriptomics.
