The Michigan State University-Hurley Children's Hospital Pediatric Public Health Initiative (https://msuhurleypphi.org/) in the C.S. Mott Department of Public Health at Michigan State University invites applications for the position of Research Technologist II. This position will be based in Flint, Michigan. The overall mission of the Pediatric Public Health Initiative (PPHI) is to improve the outcomes of Flint children. Through clinical and community programs, partnerships, advocacy, training, and evaluation, the Pediatric Public Health Initiative strives for health equity and serves as a national resource for best practices. The Research Technologist II will work with the Rx Kids research study team. Rx Kids (https://rxkids.org/) is the first community-wide unconditional cash prescription program in the United States. This multi-million-dollar public health research intervention aims to eliminate infant poverty and evaluate the health impact of expanding Rx Kids as the new social contract for how society should take care of families. The research team is focused on the impact of Rx Kids on maternal and infant health, families' basic needs/economic stability, process/service utilization, community-level impact, and systems change. The Research Technologist II recruits research participants, collects data for research studies, analyzes results and assists in composing reports in order to provide support in the completion of research projects. Research or quality improvement activities occur at the MSU Flint location and/or at local medical clinics or hospitals. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have the ability to work collaboratively and to take direction, and have strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external partners. The candidate must be organized, efficient, responsive to feedback, professional, and trustworthy.
