About The Position

The primary function of this position is to support preclinical and translational research in the Molecular Imaging Laboratory (MIL) through operation of PET/SPECT/CT systems and assistance with study design and execution. The role also includes work with radiolabeled materials, animal models, user training, and compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in biological, chemical, or medical sciences (such as biology, pharmacology/toxicology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, physiology, or medical technology), or a closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and instrumentation, preferably in the molecular imaging field.
  • Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting lab equipment, conducting in vivo experiments, acquiring and analyzing imaging data, and maintaining accurate records while following established safety and quality protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate results effectively, and adapt to evolving research needs.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex technical instructions.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality control practices.
  • Ability to interpret, summarize, and present complex data accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in biological, chemical, medical sciences (biology, chemistry, animal science, medical technology, bioengineering) or a closely related field.
  • At least one year of laboratory experience, ideally within the molecular imaging field, with hands-on experience in nuclear and optical imaging techniques. Experience in acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting imaging data is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with experimental workflows and imaging instrumentation.
  • Laboratory experience, including working with animals.

Responsibilities

  • Scanning and Imaging Operations: perform PET/SPECT/CT and IVIS imaging, maintain and calibrate equipment, acquire and analyze imaging data, work with animals.
  • Training and User Support: conduct on-site training sessions, provide technical guidance and hands-on assistance, oversee the research groups members in the MIL performing animal microsurgeries.
  • Radioisotope Handling and Laboratory Preparation: conduct SOP for all radioactive materials work, maintain document records and prepare materials for radioactive work, conduct safe experimental setup.
  • Safety and Compliance: ensure full compliance with institutional safety and radiation protection guidelines, participate in audits, inspections, conduct daily and weekly contamination surveys.
  • Laboratory Management: maintain accurate and complete experimental data, imaging records, manage laboratory scheduling, assist with user billing, prepare purchase requests for MIL.
  • Cleaning, Maintenance, and Sterilization: perform routine maintenance, clean, sterilize, maintain laboratory space and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
