The position involves setting up and performing routine and established lab procedures to support lab goals and grant commitments, including assays, cell/tissue culture, and animal studies. The individual will monitor results, report unusual outcomes, and suggest modifications. Responsibilities also include collecting, entering, and summarizing data, assisting in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies, and performing basic statistical data analysis. The candidate will prepare tables, charts, and graphs, and assist in organizing data. Additionally, the individual will present at research laboratory meetings and contribute to the writing of manuscripts. The role is supervised, but the candidate may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by the Principal Investigator. This is a limited tenure position approved for one year, with the possibility of turning into a regular position. The Horbinski lab focuses on understanding and treating brain tumors, particularly through preclinical modeling of gliomas and meningiomas and discovering cutting-edge molecular biomarkers using both tissue and liquid biopsies.
