The research technician will assist with tasks to further the Santos lab’s goals of integrating phylogenetics, biogeography, ecology, and morphometrics to explain the evolution of fishes. These tasks include routine laboratory techniques such as DNA extractions with clean technique and maintenance of shared laboratory; communicating with other museums to arrange loans; assisting with the Division of Fishes’ digitization goals; assisting with purchasing for the lab; and testing the quality of data generated by the lab with supervision and guidance from Dr. Santos. The candidate will not be required to prepare final reports or manuscripts. The Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a detail-oriented laboratory technician to join our team.
