About The Position

Nufarm is a global crop protection and seeds technologies company that helps farmers and businesses meet the global challenges of food, feed, fibre and food production. The Quality and Food Safety Technician executes operational tasks for oil and grain samples, ensuring the business is supported and educated to address and mitigate quality assurance risks in critical control points in a timely and proactive manner. Responsibilities include receiving, handling, conducting, and coordinating QA samples for testing on all crops in the region, as well as uploading QA test results into the company's ERP system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Plant Science.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role, conducting Quality and food safety practices in oil and grain testing and production.
  • Intimate knowledge of QMS and FSMA is a plus.
  • Certificate in PCQI preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Team player, quick learner, and able to build relationships and processes quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sample plan and daily tasks according to Quality Management System and Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and record equipment calibration and maintenance according to schedule.
  • Analyze and report on incoming grain from harvest, in-storage, grain ready for crush, including oil and by-products.
  • Inspect raw material data to assist inventory management making improvements in storage, handling, and movement.
  • Enter QA data into ERP system as soon as information becomes available.
  • Follow and monitor Food Safety / Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Plan as part of Quality Management System.
  • Collaborate with Nutritional's team on technical training, risk analysis, audits, and hazard analysis reviews with employees and third parties.
  • Coordinate and deliver QA training needs with contracted employees, third parties, or external labs.
  • Follow processing procedures and recommendations according to QA budget.
  • Upkeep inventory of all grains and assist with Regulatory projects providing quality data and compliance of tonnage reports to State Regulators.
  • Adopt safety initiatives and ensure actions and behaviours of the team are aligned with Nuseed's Safety culture.
