The Preclinical Laboratory Research Unit (PCLRU) supports the D3b Center’s basic and translational research efforts. The PCLRU focuses its research on pediatric central nervous system and convergence research in Neuroscience. The primary goal of the PCLRU unit is to harness data-driven approaches on behalf of precision-based and targeted therapeutics using translational methodologies, including projects focused on the elucidation of cell signaling mechanisms of childhood development, oncogenesis, tumor progression, the creation and characterization of preclinical models, drug screening, development, and testing. The Research Technician III position requires high level of dedication and 'ownership' approach to the patient derived specimen research tools generation (cell lines, tumoroids and animal models). The activities require very good communication skills, team work at the same time self-organization and being agile in prioritization approach. Daily operational task involve, specimen processing, the cell/tissue culture, as well as performing experiments. Attention to details and keeping detailed notes is a must. Candidate responsibility vary from receiving and processing the specimens through cell line, tumoroid development to experimental testing on the models. Additional tasks include lab management activities.
