Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science. This position supports preclinical research studies evaluating gene therapy approaches in rodent models of neurological disorders. Primary responsibilities include plasmid preparation and purification, as well as assisting with the care, maintenance, and monitoring of research rodent colonies. Candidates with prior hands-on experience handling rodents in a laboratory research setting are strongly preferred. Experience conducting rodent behavioral assays is highly desirable. A strong foundation in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline is required.
