About The Position
The Charles Y.C. and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research (CMMCR) at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician II in Dr. Jialiang (Shirley) Wang laboratory. Dr. Wang's postdoctoral research was done at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical University, where her work utilized multi-omics approaches to investigate skeletal disease and bone health. She is a recipient of the NIH Pathways to Independence Award (K99/R00). The Wang laboratory will take an interdisciplinary approach that spans genetics, multi-omics, in vivo and in vitro models, to characterize how aberrant factors can lead to skeletal disease and bone cancer. Previous and ongoing work investigates the molecular program that regulates osteocytogenesis and bridges the gap between osteocyte development and human skeletal disease, and reveals the regulatory role of transcription factors in bone cancer and develops novel transcription factor-targeted therapies. There are many exciting projects to work on and these projects will provide the opportunity to receive close mentorship and learn cutting-edge technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, single-cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptome and multi-omics analysis. The research in Wang laboratory involves close collaboration with scientists, clinicians, and members of the integrated multidisciplinary research environment within the CMMCR and across UT Southwestern.
