About The Position

A Research Technician II is sought for a position within the academic laboratory of Dr. John DiPersio, directly reporting to Dr. Jessica Kotov. The role of this position is to assist with wet lab experiments related to pre-clinical development of CAR immunotherapies. More specifically, the technician will assist with in vitro and in vivo CRISPR screens to identify genetic perturbations in CAR T cells that enhance tumor cell killing and T cell persistence. Current research interests involve carrying out these screens in the context of small cell lung carcinoma and glioblastoma. Our group is very collaborative, with a great learning environment, scientific resources, and advancement opportunities. Assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments, including documentation and preparation of materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.
  • Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
  • Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  • Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
