About The Position

A full time position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Suwon Kim studying cancer biology. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded, enthusiastic individual with training in basic molecular and cell biological techniques. Experience working with rodents is preferred but not necessary. Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
  • Ability to set up and perform a variety of lab or field tests and operations.
  • Experience with recording results, making observations, analyzing data, and interpreting test results.
  • Research Knowledge and experience (internship, independent study).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
  • Molecular biology experience.
  • Experience with rodent surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the supervision of the PI and perform day-to-day experiments of tissue culture, DNA, RNA, protein isolation/analyses, cloning DNA constructs, and mouse experiments.
  • Record results in the laboratory notebooks or data folders.
  • Communicate all results to the PI in a timely manner and plans for the follow-up experiments and troubleshooting.
  • Participates in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and data figures.
  • Assist with the set up of standard laboratory operations.
  • Organize and manage laboratory resources including research reagents and laboratory equipment.
  • Facilitate the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new lab personnel.
  • Provides routine and technical administrative support to lab operations.
  • Write and update standard lab operating procedures and protocols.
  • Oversee RLSS compliance for all lab members.
