The Research Technician I is a full-time position in the MGH Center for Transplantation Sciences, under the direction of Drs. Joren Madsen and James Allan. This lab group has investigated the molecular and cellular mechanisms of transplant rejection, tolerance, and xenotransplantation in preclinical models for over 25 years. Primary responsibilities are to learn to perform experiments for research projects under supervision of principal investigator and laboratory manager. This includes performing bench side assays, assisting in the operating room, collection of and accurate recording of procedures and results, preliminary analysis of data, maintenance of databases used in the lab, tracking and ordering necessary reagents to conduct experiments, and participation in joint upkeep of the lab. Summary Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, organizing and preparing samples, conducting experiments, and recording and analyzing data. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.
