The Levin Lab conducts neurobehavioral research with rats and zebrafish to determine the short and long-term effects of drug and environmental chemical effects on sensorimotor, emotional, cognitive and social behavior. The technician with work with Dr. Levin, trainees, and collaborators with the exposure of the animal subjects to the drugs and environmental chemicals and assessment of the effects on behavior using observational ad computerized video tracking. The behavioral effects will be related to neural effects with collaborators analyzing brain tissue samples gathered by the Levin lab. The purpose of this research is to determine the neurobehavioral risks of environmental toxicant exposure, particularly during development. In addition, we conduct the impact of paternal chemical and drug exposure before conception on neurodevelopmental development in the offspring.
