About The Position

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham. A position is available for a laboratory technician to be a part of the Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (CAA) research team in the lab of Dr. Mariel Kozberg. The major goal of the lab is to study the mechanisms leading to blood vessel dysfunction and rupture associated with brain injury in CAA. We hope that this work will lead to new therapies for patients with CAA, a common disease with no disease-modifying therapies available. For this position, we are looking at the effect of apolipoprotein E, a lipoprotein known to play a role in a person’s risk of developing CAA, and its ability to alter cerebrovascular function. The successful candidate will have prior experience in neurology and/or vascular research and an interest in understanding disease mechanisms. This role will involve in-vivo and ex-vivo techniques including but not limited to animal surgeries, various imaging techniques, biochemical assays and complex image analysis. The incumbent is expected to work both independently and as a team member with investigators, staff, fellows, and students; and will report directly to Dr. Mariel Kozberg and Dr. Katy Walsh.
