About The Position

The Research Technician position at Boston University's College of Arts & Sciences, specifically within the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences, is a part-time role focused on supporting innovative research in cognitive and clinical neuroscience. The technician will engage in studies related to visual perception and cognition, contributing to the understanding of both healthy brains and those affected by mental illnesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with cognitive or clinical neuroscience research is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with neuroimaging or neurophysiological techniques is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and assist with data collection.
  • Operate advanced neuroscience tools, including EEG, transcranial electrical brain stimulation (tES), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and eye-tracking equipment.
  • Support research involving psychophysics and behavioral assessments.
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure high-quality data collection and analysis.
  • Maintain lab equipment and assist in the preparation of research materials.
