About The Position

The Emotional Brain Institute (EBI) is a multidisciplinary institute aimed at addressing fundamental questions in neuroscience and neuropsychiatry. We seek to hire a research technician initially for a 3 month period with a possible extension to aid in behavioral, electrophysiological, and microscopy-based experiments on animals. Some weekends are required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in the following areas: biology, neuroscience, psychology, and animal behavior
• Must have experience working with animals and data collection
• High motivation to improve and learn, while making a contribution to a scientific field

Nice To Haves

• experience genotyping
• brain slicing
• immunohistochemistry
• mouse handling and IP injections
• mouse behavior
• stereotaxic surgeries

Responsibilities

• help with setup of laboratory equipment
• animal care
• colony management
• perform laboratory and behavioral work with mice while assisting in gathering data for experiments
