About The Position

The Research/Student Tutor position is a part-time role within the Saturday STEM department at Alcorn State University. Requirements

• Enrolled as an undergraduate student at ASU
• GPA of 2.5 or higher

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down lab equipment and instructional supplies
• Perform duties as instructional assistant in the classroom
• Serve as mentor/tutor to Saturday STEM participants
• Research background materials for lessons
• Participate in all activities, supervising young students at all times
• Assist in preparing accountability and assessment reports
• Attend professional development opportunities, staff, and workshop meetings
• Perform office duties
• Participate in ongoing improvements in teaching strategies, technology application methods, and enrichment events promoting students' awareness, enthusiasm, and academic success in math and science
• Assist director and office manager as needed
• Must be able to work on scheduled Saturdays
