The Baker Lab develops and translates advanced neurostimulation approaches, including deep brain stimulation (DBS), to treat patients with acquired brain injuries such as stroke and traumatic brain injury, as well as movement disorders like tremors and ataxia. Efforts include preclinical research using disease models to personalize treatment strategies and clinical research and trials to better understand and refine DBS applications. This work integrates behavioral, neurophysiological, and imaging data through collaborations across neurosurgery, neurology, radiology, and biomedical engineering. As a Research Student, you will work closely with research personnel and actively participate in a structured learning experience in the laboratory or clinical research setting. This role provides hands-on exposure to laboratory techniques, clinical environments, data collection, data analysis, and other essential research skills, offering a strong foundation for an exciting career in biomedical and/or clinical research. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current undergraduate student in an accredited college or university
