About The Position

The Hatzell group in the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University is seeking to hire a research specialist. The Hatzell group examines dynamic interfaces in energy storage, conversion, and separations applications with a focus on next generation clean energy technologies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor science in engineering is required.
  • Prior research experience, data analysis, and visualization skills are necessary.
  • Experience with diverse programming languages and imaging software (Python, AVIZO, imageJ) is necessary.
  • Background in engineering, physics, and/or chemistry will all be considered.

  • Interest in receiving applications from members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in relevant science and engineering fields.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute advanced metrology and characterization tools for dynamic materials experimentation.
  • Work on data analysis and visualization of large imaging data sets.
  • Participate in synchrotron experiments.
  • Pursue geometric image analysis in 2-D and 3-D and image identifiability research questions.
  • Conduct research in diverse programming languages and imaging software (Python, AVIZO, imageJ).
  • Collaborate closely with graduate students and post-doctoral research associates on data analysis and develop image processing workflows.
  • Collaborate with external partners, manage funding deliverables and milestones.
  • Develop proposals for synchrotron and neutron imaging resources.
