About The Position

The Penn Infant Language Center is seeking a research specialist/lab manager to oversee language development studies. This role involves managing lab operations, training students, and ensuring compliance with IRB protocols. The lab manager will also handle data collection, programming experiments, and serve as a liaison with parents and community partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in psychology or an allied field (cognitive science, neuroscience, linguistics).
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with R and/or Python programming languages.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with eyetracking systems.
• Coursework background in developmental psychology, phonetics, or computational linguistics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of language development studies in the lab.
• Train and supervise students.
• Manage general lab administration including IRB protocol maintenance.
• Program experiments and collect data.
• Process data and conduct preliminary data analysis.
