About The Position

The Research Specialist will provide support research and quantitative data analysis for Dr. Adam Rosenthal’s laboratory. The lab investigates the role of heterogeneous gene expression in bacterial pathogenesis. It uses genetics, molecular biology, and systems biology approaches to understand the presence and regulation of cellular specialization in genetically clonal bacterial populations. The Research Analyst will prepare reagents and media for experiments, maintain lab supplies, carry out experiments and analyze experimental results. The Research Analyst will work with Dr. Rosenthal to devise experiments and will assist other members of the lab with their experiments and analysis. Specific lab skills include molecular biology techniques ( DNA / RNA preparation, PCR , molecular cloning), data collection using microscopy and single cell RNA sequencing, data entry, and quantitative data analysis from single cell transcriptome experiments and timelapse microscopy.
