About The Position

Provides technical lab support by independently performing basic lab and research-related tasks to ensure accurate research results that can expand on the knowledge of the field of study. Responsible for following lab safety standards. The Biodesign Institute’s Center for Personalized Diagnostics is seeking a Research Specialist to support the development of innovative proteomics platforms and the discovery of disease biomarkers. The successful candidate will contribute to experimental design, assay development, and data generation using high throughput protein array technologies. Responsibilities include performing molecular biology and immunoassay techniques, supporting platform optimization, analyzing and interpreting experimental data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a commitment to advancing translational research in precision diagnostics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

Responsibilities

  • Operate basic laboratory equipment and prepare biological buffers, solutions and reagents following standard laboratory procedures
  • Perform general molecular biology tasks such as PCR, cloning, and DNA prep
  • Conduct immunoassays, such as western, ELISA, and protein arrays
  • Perform mammalian cell culture
  • Process samples with a liquid handling system
  • Perform protein expression and purification
