About The Position

The Research Specialist II will be responsible for library construction and overseeing the Elledge Lab strain collection and other items of lab organization. They will be involved in a project to develop vectors that will allow the transportation of mRNAs from a T cell into a host cell.
General Overview: Conducts complex research projects, committed to the field and the scope of the particular research study. Works as part of a research team. Exhibits the ability to contribute independently to scientific endeavors. Will perform independent research requiring excellent application of professional judgment, interpretation of experimental results, innovation of new approaches, and preparation of research for presentation and publication

Requirements

• Master's Degree Related Field of Study required
• Previous research experience 5-7 years required
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to develop innovative procedures to achieve goals.
• Knowledge of current and developing clinical research trends.
• Ability to make sound outcomes based on knowledge and experience.
• Ability to assess, interpret, and evaluate conclusions of research.
• Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
• Ability to effectively supervise others.

Responsibilities

• Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
• Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for research advancement.
• Improves job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
• Develops proposals and study plans, and coordinates the institutional and external reviews of these proposals.
• Supports staff to ensure the successful conduct of assigned clinical studies consistent with applicable regulations, guidelines, and policies.
• Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using advanced statistical techniques.
• Supports staff to ensure the successful conduct of assigned clinical studies consistent with applicable regulations, guidelines, and policies.
• Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement.
• Responsible for preparing summaries of laboratory studies for meeting presentations and publications.
