The Research Specialist II will provide direct research and teaching support at the professional level by working under general guidance and with latitude for exercising independent technical judgment, of moderate complexity and scope in a specialized field. Develops, designs and conducts one or more small or moderately complex research projects or experiments in line with plan, reviews progress and evaluates results. This position will also be responsible for the orientation and training of new lab members in experimental technique methods and safety education as well as participating in lab meetings and seminars. Provides direct research support at a professional level in a large Neuroscience laboratory. Takes charge of a segment of research activities of moderate complexity. Responsible for conducting and analyzing experiments that comprise a coherent part of a larger project; and researching and resolving technical problems within the scope of those experiments.
