Overview This Research Specialist position will help grow our individualized cellular technologies at Children's Mercy. Responsibilities for the role include the reprogramming of patient biospecimens into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as well as methods development for quality control and quality assurance of patient-derived iPSC lines. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences
  • 1 year relevant experience in a laboratory setting

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years relevant experience in a laboratory setting
  • Master's Degree
  • 1-2 years experience

Responsibilities

  • Human cell culture: isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells, iPSC reprogramming, iPSC maintenance, differentiation into organiod models
  • Biobank management: cell line storage and curation
  • Assay development: protocol optimization, establishment of novel functional assays
  • Essential laboratory tasks: ordering and receiving
