About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, collaborative, and highly organized Research Specialist to join Dr. Ai Ing Lim’s laboratory at Princeton University. The Lim laboratory studies how maternal immunity adapts across reproductive stages and how maternal exposures shape offspring immune development. This position will initially focus on supporting ongoing research projects and learning core experimental techniques. With provided training, the Research Specialist will be expected to carry out experiments independently, contribute to experimental design, and participate in data analysis and figure preparation for presentations and manuscripts. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their research skills and prepare for the next stage of their scientific career in a collaborative and supportive environment. Occasional flexible hours may be required to meet research timelines. The position is available starting August 2026, with a negotiable start date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, or a closely related field
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in a biology research laboratory; substantial, self-driven undergraduate thesis research experience will also be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and progressively carry out experiments independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to plan and coordinate experimental work
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with mouse models is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform mouse handling, colony maintenance, and monitoring
  • Assist with and, after training, independently conduct animal experiments
  • Collect and process samples from animal studies
  • Perform laboratory techniques including tissue dissection, cell isolation, flow cytometry, cell culture, sequencing, and imaging
  • After training, independently plan and execute experiments with guidance
  • Document experimental procedures and results
  • Analyze data and generate figures
  • Contribute to lab meetings, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Assist with lab organization, ordering, and maintaining supplies
