About The Position

Princeton University's Department of Molecular Biology seeks applicants for a Research Specialist position to join a laboratory focused on studying host responses to human hepatotropic infections, including hepatitis viruses and flaviviruses. The successful candidate will work with the P.I. and members of the lab to design and perform experiments with a particular focus on the analysis of host responses in humanized mouse models.

Requirements

  • A strong background in science and a bachelor's degree is required.
  • Math and computer proficiency, along with meticulous record keeping is required.
  • Must be highly motivated, highly organized, a team player, able to work independently, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The finalist will be required to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional in vivo study experience from coursework and/or internships is a plus.
  • Optimally, the candidate has demonstrated experience with laboratory rodent care and handling.
  • Previous experience with animal model systems and/or mammalian tissue culture is preferred but not necessary.
  • A strong background in molecular biology, immunology and/or virology is highly desirable along with the ability to perform advanced mouse work, including colony management, genotyping and rodent surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of mammalian cell culture and mouse genetics is a plus.
