The Division of Microbiology and Immunology within the Emory National Primate Research Center at Emory University in Atlanta, GA is currently seeking a full-time, entry-level Research Specialist to join the laboratory of Dr. Mirko Paiardini . The Research Specialist will assist with NIH-funded studies on HIV immunology. Our research consists of utilizing simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV)-infected non-human primates (NHPs) as a model of HIV pathogenesis to characterize viral persistence during antiretroviral therapy (ART) and test novel immunotherapies to achieve durable viral remission. Operating under senior research scientists, work will be performed in a fast-paced BSL-2 laboratory setting involving techniques such as processing tissues for immune cell isolation, flow cytometry, and cell culture. Candidates with a background in immunology, virology, or pre-clinical animal models are highly encouraged to apply.
