About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Specialist D (RSD). The RSD will function as the day-to-day lab manager, including the direction and training of research specialists, postdocs and graduate students in this experimentation and procedures. They will manage and coordinate daily work flow for assigned research projects. Interface regularly with PI, visiting scientists and research collaborators regarding experimental design, progress and research findings. Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during a study. They will prepare manuscripts for publication, protocols and written reports for grant submissions. They might be asked to attend national and international meetings, regarding new tools and results of Microbiological research findings. The RSD must have impeccable organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work independently and exhibit good judgement. Experience working with research faculty from various disciplines is preferable. The position is contingent on funding. Might be required to work Holidays and weekends.

Requirements

  • Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Ph.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the designing, developing, and implementing new experimental directions and techniques.
  • Includes the direction and training of research specialists, postdocs and graduate students in this experimentation and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate daily work flow for assigned research projects.
  • Manage mouse colony.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication, protocols and written reports for grant submissions.
  • Research literature and advances in field.
  • Evaluate new findings and techniques for possible introduction to laboratory.
