About The Position

The Research Specialist A will work with patients’ clinical samples and process them to cells, DNA and/or RNA, evaluate nucleic acid quality and quantity and biobank this material according to existing SOPs. Parts of the responsibilities include receipt and management of these samples using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Additional responsibilities include media preparation, maintain chemical inventory, database organization, and other potential duties outside of standard obligations to contribute to smooth functioning of the sample pipeline. This individual will also in due course train on Real-Time qPCR testing cellular products and patients’ samples. This position requires careful and precise work in a Good Laboratory Practice like environment, including meticulous documentation of samples and procedures performed under appropriate compliance and regulations. Might be required to work Holidays and weekends. Position is contingent on funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Nucleic acid purification from different sample types received in TCSL from clinical and research samples.
  • Quantification and bio banking of nucleic acids processed in TCSL.
  • Perform Real-time qPCR on cellular products and patients' samples.
  • Other Molecular Assays: ICE, MycoSeq, DPCR.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
