The Research Software Engineer will lead the deployment of AI systems in homes across Atlanta, GA, collaborating with researchers and students. This role involves designing and maintaining the software infrastructure that integrates sensors, AI inference systems, and mobile applications, ensuring effective data processing and user interaction.

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain a robust software infrastructure that connects and stores sensor information from wearables and home sensors.
  • Translate research-grade code into deployable systems in collaboration with students.
  • Lead Northeastern's AI-CARING deployment team.
  • Liaison with partner institutions to address needs and ensure digital connectivity between systems and the deployed site.
  • Plan and execute an integration plan for timely system integration at the deployed site.
  • Participate in outreach and community-building programs related to AI-CARING.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree.
  • Four to six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with full stack development and managing cloud VMs and servers.
  • Strong software development skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Master's or PhD in computer science or equivalent degree preferred.
