About The Position

The Research Services Associate position at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is a full-time entry-level consulting role designed for candidates graduating between December 2024 and July 2025. The role focuses on supporting BRG's Research Services department, which provides essential data subscriptions and research resources to enhance the firm's efficiency and profitability. Associates will engage in various research tasks, analyze financial data, and contribute to projects that require both quantitative and qualitative analysis, all while ensuring high-quality customer service and effective communication with team members and clients.

Requirements

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, data science, statistics, accounting, finance, healthcare administration or related fields.
  • 3.5 GPA or higher.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • 0-2 years of experience, including internships.
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven capability with MS Excel.
  • Experience with relational database programs (e.g., MS SQL Server, SAS, MS Access, Tableau, Alteryx, MySQL, Oracle, Snowflake) is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with statistical analysis programs (e.g., R, Stata, SAS, Python, SPSS) is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review data sets and qualitative materials to understand project requirements.
  • Perform detailed research on relevant topics.
  • Participate in a team environment to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to analyze data and research findings.
  • Interact with senior staff, experts, and clients to communicate findings and economic concepts.
  • Demonstrate creativity and analytical skills to develop tailored solutions.
  • Audit work products to assure quality.
  • Provide contributions to client deliverables and expert reports.
  • Develop and maintain electronic databases and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Identify and collect data from various sources for projects.
  • Analyze databases and spreadsheets using statistical software.
