This position serves as the Research Senior Technician in the Deepest Beliefs Lab (DBL) within the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University under the direction of Dr. Kurt Gray, Weary Foundation Endowed Chair in Social Psychology. The Research Senior Technician provides advanced technical, operational, and administrative support to ensure the effective day-to-day functioning of the lab and the execution of PI-directed research activities. Responsibilities include coordinating routine lab operations; assisting with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of undergraduate research assistants; serving as a primary point of contact for routine inquiries; preparing, submitting, and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols; and tracking and reconciling research-related expenses. The role supports research projects by assisting with literature reviews, data collection, survey programming using established tools such as Qualtrics, and preliminary data analysis using standard methods. The Research Technician also assists with the preparation of research documentation, summaries, reports, and manuscript components under PI guidance and supports internal and external communication related to lab activities. The position independently resolves routine operational or research-related issues within established procedures and escalates non-routine or complex matters to the PI as appropriate, while providing day-to-day guidance and procedural training to undergraduate research assistants to ensure consistency with lab protocols.
