About The Position

AgriPlex Genomics is seeking a collaborative Research Scientist with expertise in Molecular Biology to lead the development of innovative genotyping assays for agricultural products. This role focuses on advancing agricultural biotechnology and regulatory testing, providing an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field.

Requirements

  • PhD with 0-2 years of experience, or MSc with 4+ years of experience, in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of molecular biology techniques with wide application in agricultural species.
  • Experience in bioinformatics and/or biostatistics, specifically related to NGS sequencing.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and design experiments autonomously.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting potential issues in a methodical and systematic manner.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing molecular diagnostics for agricultural breeding and quality testing.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, combined with hands-on experience in PCR-based technologies and NGS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of genotyping assays for molecular diagnostics in agricultural species.
  • Independently design experiments to answer key questions relating to transgenics characterization.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures and troubleshoot any technical issues related to assay performance.
  • Work closely with R&D and product development teams to ensure that developed assays meet the needs of both regulatory compliance and commercial objectives.
  • Lead efforts to innovate and improve existing assays and develop new technologies that support the accurate detection of agricultural traits.
  • Test molecular assays and interpret results to inform product development.
  • Stay at the forefront of molecular genetics and biotechnology research to identify new methods, technologies, and tools that can improve accurate detection of transgenic products.
