About The Position

The Research Scientist at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Inc. is responsible for conducting research aimed at developing new or improved products in the field of cell culture solutions. This role involves performing cell culture experiments, preparing reagents, conducting assays, and assisting in experimental design and data analysis. The position is integral to advancing healthcare initiatives through innovative research and product development.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Biology or related fields required.
• Qualified M.S. candidates should have at least 5 years of industry experience in a Cell Therapy setting.
• Prior experience in aseptic cell culture of mammalian cells is required.
• Demonstrated ability in writing scientific content is required.
• Good general knowledge of Cell Culture, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.
• Good working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, etc.).
• Knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in the use of a flow cytometer is preferred.
• Prior experience in cell-based assays is preferred.
• Prior experience in Cell Therapy/Immunology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell culture experiments for development of cell biology research, product development, technical product support, and/or process improvements.
• Formulate and prepare reagents and cell culture media.
• Perform various chemical/biological assays.
• Perform basic data analysis and generate summary data reports.
• Assist in experimental design.
• Assist in preparation of formal reports and presentations.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and experimental problems.
