About The Position

The position of Part Time Temporary Research Scientist conduct research, collect and analyze data, prepare manuscripts for publication and results for grant applications, and assist in research-related tasks on specific projects. This is a Grant Funded Position: Assignment Ends 12/31/2026

Requirements

• PhD, MD or DVM and more than 10 years of related experience are required.

• Special consideration will be given to candidates who will work independently with enthusiasm, self-motivation, and ability to solve problems that may arise during experimental studies.
• Candidates who have been working on animal models and health effects of ambient particulate matter and engineered nanoparticles will be given special consideration.
• Exhibit capacity to act promptly; demonstrate effort to accomplish assigned tasks and meet organizational needs; take independent action where appropriate, and utilize sound judgment.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Listen well and respond appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Develop experimental protocols, and coordinate and schedule research activities
• Design and conduct experiments
• Collect, organize and analyze data generated from the experimental study
• Prepare written reports, documents and manuscripts for publication and grant applications
• Monitor current research literature for relevant information
• Recommend new ideas for ongoing lines of research
• Participate in grant proposal preparation and development
