About The Position

Allegheny Singer Research Institute seeks a Research Scientist to work in Pittsburgh, PA, and to perform cancer-associated biomarker discovery and validation from clinically collected samples and cell line samples by tandem mass spectrometry coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-MS/MS). This includes routine calibration and maintenance of HPLC-MS/MS Systems as well as MS/MS data processing and interpretation via multiple search platforms. Must have a PhD (or foreign equivalent degree) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology or a related field. Must have technical expertise in a wide range of specialized analytical instrumentations for conducting cutting-edge interdisciplinary cancer research. Must also have any experience with or knowledge of: (i) Mass Spectrometry; (ii) peptide/protein identification; (iii) software for statistical data interpretation; (iv) clinical sample processing (i.e. blood, cells, and tissues) for proteomic studies; and (v) enrichment and identification of proteins/peptides with post-translational modifications. Requirements
