Leidos’ Defense Systems RF Systems Portfolio is seeking a Research Scientist to join a talented team within the RF Systems Portfolio. Candidates in this role will be a part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and analysts supporting advanced radar systems research and development in a high-fidelity modeling and simulation environment. Candidates will be expected to set-up, test, analyze, and evaluate radar and weapon system performance using modeling and simulation of air defense systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution plus 2+ years of demonstrated performance in M&S activities
  • Proficient in programming (Python preferably, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Must be a US citizen, possess and able to maintain an active Secret Clearance
  • Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess and able to maintain an active Top-Secret Clearance
  • Radar/Air Defense Systems M&S Experience
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Experience with large military networks (IBCS, CEC, C2BMC, etc)
  • Knowledge of radar algorithms and techniques (search, track, discrimination, etc)
  • Experience working in a Linux operating environment

Responsibilities

  • Support M&S configuration, testing, and data analysis activities of radar and weapon systems to determine performance capabilities
  • Demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in support of analysis products and presentations
  • Work with a team to find solutions to novel, complex, and non-traditional questions
