About The Position
As a Research Scientist at Meta Platforms, Inc., you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to complex software and hardware challenges. Your role will involve conducting extensive research and designing new optimization algorithms that enhance the efficiency and performance of Meta's platforms. You will be responsible for creating and implementing large-scale distributed software systems capable of handling numerous complex requests simultaneously, ensuring reliability and performance under pressure. In this position, you will leverage your technical research background to train new ranking models and conduct experiments that drive product improvements. You will also create tools for migrating large volumes of user data across systems, which is crucial for new product launches and scalability efforts. Your expertise in machine learning, statistics, and data techniques will be essential in building algorithms that meet the evolving needs of Meta's diverse user base. Collaboration with stakeholders will be a key aspect of your role, as you will gather and synthesize system requirements to develop effective feature roadmaps. You will analyze and resolve engineering challenges from a systems perspective, demonstrating sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for problem-solving. Your work will involve building highly scalable software systems using a variety of programming languages, including C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, OCAML, and Python, all while maintaining a high degree of autonomy. Additionally, you will design flexible APIs for Meta's product teams, enabling the development of applications for both web and mobile platforms. Proactively identifying and driving necessary changes within your assigned codebase and product area will be crucial to your success in this role.
