The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Suicide Prevention Research Scientist in the New York State Office of Mental Health's (NYS OMH) Suicide Prevention Center of New York (SPCNY). OMH's SPCNY is the lead entity in NYS suicide prevention. Its mandate is to advance implementation of the State's Suicide Prevention Plan, providing a range of resources and technical assistance to community partners. The incumbent will serve in the role of clinical and public health expert in suicide prevention. As a suicide prevention expert, and Director of Implementation at OMH SPCNY, the individual will supervise and direct an implementation team providing technical assistance to grant sites and partners aimed at the integration of suicide care best practices across the entire suicide prevention portfolio, including in schools, health and behavioral health systems (aka "Zero Suicide"), workplace and other community setting. This position is an RFMH Research Scientist V title and is responsible for formulating and conducting a systematic, research-based approach to solving problems, which have been recognized as exceptionally difficult. The incumbent would be expected to make contributions to the field by leading implementation of SPCNY grant and non-grant initiatives and working with a team to disseminate and scale best practices in suicide prevention across New York State.
